2nd November, 2011: What a great tour. My deepest thanks to the promoters, bookers, audiences, and all involved. It felt like a big step forward on my little path, and I keep with me the feeling of being lucky and blessed with family, friends, and audiences new and old. Thank you all! I love you!!! xxo

Fun shows coming up this week, I’m playing:
Weds. Sept. 28th: The Standard, West Hollywood in the Cactus Lounge. Also performing will be the beautiful ladies Ruthann Friedman and Michelle Vidal! The musical goodness begins at 7:30pm. Free.
Thurs. Sept. 29th: Frog & Peach, San Luis Obispo, CA. Yup, wander in from the farmer’s market which occurrs just outside this funky pub and you will see yours truly in musical action. 8pm.
Fri. Sept. 30th: Evangeline’s, Colfax, CA. Evangeline runs the grooviest place in Colfax, and we’re going to fill it with musical mirth that night, so come on down! 8pm.

I’ll be singing a few Gram Parson’s duets and songs with my musical friends and compatriots at the ‘Gram Jam’ presented by Grand Ole Echo on September 18th. Make sure and come down to this all ages, kid friendly, FREE show,

We’ll be raising our voices and glasses to our musical spirit brother Gram Parsons.
My friends and compatriots on this show include the wonderful:
Brennen Leigh, Brian Whelan, Leslie Stevens, Dan Janisch and David Serby. The amazing house band will be The Palomino Riders – (Led by the father/son team of Jesse and Greg Harris also includes Jay Dee Maness, Mike Baker and Don Heffington.).
A little about Jesse Harris and the band: “Jesse’s musical traditions run deep, his father Greg Harris fronted the Flying Burrito Brothers for years after Gram Parson’s untimely death. Greg worked with many influential musicians during these years including Garth Hudson and Rick Danko of The Band, Roger McGuinn of the Byrds, Sneaky Pete Kleinow of the Burritos and many others.
The influence of hanging around at these shows as a kid is still with Jesse and provides a strong foundation from with to draw, which is why his first solo release is aptly titled “Solid Ground”
JayDee Maness played on Gram Parson’s records, was in the ISB band, he was a Buckaroo, and was Vince Gills steel player for years. A member of the Steel Guitar Hall Of Fame, a living legend, and and all around great guy. Check out his website http://www.jaydeemaness.com/
Don Heffington has recorded with too many people to name…Bob Dylan, Victoria Williams and The Wallflowers come immediately to mind. Don was in the critically-acclaimed band Lone Justice, and also Emmylou Harris’ Hot Band. He’s also recording on Susan James’ new record t/b released in 2012.
So come on down to the Echo, hear some great Gram Parsons songs featuring some of the best country/roots/americana musicians in L.A., eat some delicious BBQ from Uncle Creepo’s BBQ. Come on and listen to DJ Cousin Roy spinning great old classic country on the record player between sets. Dance, drink and meet your pals old and new at the friendliest free show in town.
